On the second day of our Inverness holiday, we hired a car and drove vai loch ness to Fort William where we planned to climb a little way up Ben Nevis. The Highlands are incredible. As the photos show, there is so much water everywhere. The landscape is quite barren, especially I imagine at this time of year, although there are forests and trees all the roadside, further up the hills and mountains they are very grey and bare.
Loch Ness is amazing. Its 21 Miles long and up to 250 metres deep in places. I can understand why people think there's a monster in loch ness! As you can see by one of the photos, I had a good look for nessy but couldn't see her! We visited Urquart castle, which is the beautiful old ruined fort, but it was closed, so we continued on past Loch Ness and toward the other loch's between Inverness and Fort William and Ben Nevis.
